One Year Photos with Cake Smash!!

My friend asked me if I would take her daughter's photos for her one year pictures and of course I said yes. When she asked about doing a cake smash, honestly, I was overjoyed!! I had ALWAYS wanted to do one of these. And after doing this, I've decided that every child needs one!!!! I hope you enjoy the images I've captured. I know mom was thrilled with the pictures, and that makes me one happy camper.

And now for the cake smash...

Cantigny Park | Winfield, IL | Engram Family

When we were discussing a place for family photos, Melissa and I were trying to come up with somewhere beautiful and she had suggested downtown Geneva. I've heard it's really pretty there, never been! Then I got to thinking that as I normally drive to my BFFs house in Wheaton, I pass by Cantigny Park every time and think, I HAVE to do photos there some day. Well, that's where we ended up going and it was perfect.

I hope you enjoy the photos below. I had a lot of fun capturing Kamryn's silly side as well as the bond of this family and the love of husband and wife, Melissa and Kevin.

I love comments, so comment away! I also have these in black and white and I may do another post with just those! You can always check them out on my Facebook page:

Black & White Photography Workshop

My Mother's Day gift was a workshop by the amazingly talented Nancy Merkling. I had wanted to take this class once I saw she was offering it. At the previous workshop I had taken (Composition), she had wondered if anyone would be interested in learning to shoot for black and white and I immediately knew I would be!!

I learned a lot of things and how to look at things in color, but try to visualize them in black and white, taking special note of light/shadows, texture, and tones. Here are the photos that I had taken away from that class. I hope you enjoy them! And as always, I look forward to reading any comments you may have!
