Little Angels Gala | September 17, 2011 | Sanfilippo Estate

I had the distinct pleasure of being asked to take photographs at the Sanfilippo Estate this past Saturday for an event being held there for Little Angels. It was beautiful, breath taking and exciting to say the least.

If you haven't heard of Little Angels, it is a loving home for children and young adults with severe disabilities and complex medical needs. It is a state-of-the-art facility offering round-the-clock skilled nursing, therapeutic and habilitation services in a warm and caring environment. It was founded in 1958 by Elgin residents, Pat and Bob Wasmond. Little Angels may not be a home in the traditional sense, but it does provide the most important aspects that make a home - love, care and support.

They are located in Elgin, Illinois. You can learn more about Little Angels at www.littleangels.org.

Here is a link for the images if you would like to view them and/or place an order for prints. The password for the gallery is littleangels. You will need that to enter the gallery.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the prints will go to Little Angels. I felt honored a great organization like this chose me to partake in this event, and this is a small way I can give back to them.

the simple things

The idea behind Rebecca Cooper's blog is that you take photos of the simple things. Things that may be ordinary, but I'm certain that when I look back on them, they will be anything but ordinary to me. They will invoke a memory. And that is what matters :) I hope you like my simple photo! I have plenty more simple photos I'd love to share with you, so stay tuned!!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Larson Family | Woodstock, IL

Tiffany is a client-from-work turned friend and I am so glad I met her and got to know her...and her family. She has three adorable, sassy, mischievous little girls that you wouldn't believe some of the things I've heard them do by looking at their sweet faces in these pics. They are all so adorable and were so much fun. It was my honor to photograph all of them. This lil' happy fam of 5 :)

These images were shot at her husband's parents house in Woodstock, IL on their property. Just gorgeous and so many little areas to look at! She is going to be framing selected images to present to them as a wedding anniversary gift in September, so I'm anxious to see which pictures she chose!

You can always visit my Facebook page to view all the images from this shoot as well as the images in black and white, color and the alternate color option I gave to her.

Rick + Shana | Downtown Elgin, IL

Meet Rick and Shana. They are just adorable together and compliment each other so well. She had sent me pictures of spots that she thought might be great to take photos and we went to almost every one of them!! It was a very busy day in Downtown Elgin that day (and HOT!) but you would never know by looking at these. It felt like they were the only two people out there that day. So much fun!!

I couldn't wait to share these images with you! I had so much fun just walking and discovering places to take photos in Downtown Elgin, other than what we had originally decided on. Exciting to discover kind of hidden places that most people would turn up their nose at. You be the judge :) Alleys are now going to be my favorite hidden gem!

My favorite spot she picked had to be the tattoo shop. That was the place I couldn't wait to get to!! I love it.

I enjoy reading your comments, so please feel free to leave some for me! Thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

One Year Photos with Cake Smash!!

My friend asked me if I would take her daughter's photos for her one year pictures and of course I said yes. When she asked about doing a cake smash, honestly, I was overjoyed!! I had ALWAYS wanted to do one of these. And after doing this, I've decided that every child needs one!!!! I hope you enjoy the images I've captured. I know mom was thrilled with the pictures, and that makes me one happy camper.

And now for the cake smash...
